I have been conducting weddings and providing pre-marital coaching for nearly 30 years. In addition, I have been married myself since 1985. I can assure you friendly yet vital preparation for your new life together, as well as a fabulous wedding ceremony that your friends and family will talk about for years to come. If you’d like to know more, please read through this page, and fill out the form at the bottom if you’d like to meet for a free no-commitment consultation.

I am not a for-hire “professional” wedding officiant who will meet you for the first time on your wedding day. I am a full-time pastor, with specialized training in marital dynamics, who wants to see couples prepare not only for their wedding, but for their marriage! This is an important distinction to keep in mind. I will spend some important preparation time with you in advance of your wedding as well as at your rehearsal and wedding.

Preparing For Your Wedding

If you choose to have me conduct your wedding day ceremony, we will meet twice for about 90 minutes each time. During our time together, we will do two things. First, we will talk about the things that make marriages successful. I want you to have not only a great wedding, but a great marriage. We’ll discuss the things that make for a lifelong marriage and about the things that usually cause the most problems. Second, we will plan your wedding. While I follow a basic order, I invite you to be as creative as you possibly can. I thrive on creativity, and will be happy to join you in the process of customizing your ceremony. I live and work in the Ballantyne area of Charlotte (28277), and will meet with you at an agreed upon location nearby. My fee for weddings is $600, which includes marriage preparation sessions, custom creation of your ceremony, attendance at your rehearsal and wedding, and filing of your legal documents. There is an additional travel charge for weddings out of town. References from couples whom I have married are available by request.things-i-wish-id-known-before-we-got-marriedWe should be finished with our two meetings about 30 days before your wedding. After that, I will stay in touch with you by email to make sure that nothing gets left out or forgotten. Before we get together for our first of two sessions, I will ask you to purchase and read: Things I Wish I’d known Before We Got Married, by Dr. Gary Chapman.
